MHV WATER LIMITED

On 1 June 2017 Valetta Irrigation Limited joined Mayfield Hinds Irrigation to form MHV Water. MHV Water Limited (MHV) delivers water from the Rangitata Diversion Race (RDR) to up to 58,000 ha of highly productive land across the Hinds Plains.

Operative since 1947, it is the largest privately owned irrigation scheme in NZ. The infrastructure to deliver the water is both open race and piped, and the scheme includes a number of water storage facilities.

The newly merged scheme is continuing to focus on the environmentally and financially sustainably delivery of water to its shareholders.
